YES! I have long mourned that we don't hold funerals. When someone passes in their 90's, after a long and full life, I understand a celebration of life; they were ready to go home, and we rejoice in their final victory. But, my mother in law died suddenly, without warning, and in pain. We did not hold a funeral, and I'm still upset with this. I ADORED my MIL; she's been gone almost 2.5 years and I have thought about her every.single.day. Her celebration of life was, for me, a devastating reminder of how much life she missed out on celebrating.
